Christians around the world have been celebrating their holiest day. Here in Malta, worshippers carry a statue of the Risen Christ through the streets of Cospicua.

Cardinal Sean O'Malley blessed the 2014 Boston Marathon runners and workers. The marathon will be held on Monday.
Jerusalem's Church of the Holy Sepulchre - believed to be the site where Christ was crucified and rose again - was filled with clergy and worshippers from all denominations for what they call the Ceremony of the Holy Fire.
