Pakistan v Australia: Younus Khan & Ahmed Shehzad set big target

Younus Khan became Pakistan's highest Test century maker as they set Australia a mammoth 438 to win the first Test in Dubai.

Having made 106 in the first innings, Younus was unbeaten on 103, adding 168 with opener Ahmed Shehzad (131) as they declared their second innings on 286-2.

It was Younus's 26th Test hundred, one ahead of Inzamam-ul-Haq.

Australia reached 44-0 but lost four wickets for five runs and struggled to 59-4 by the close of day four.

However, they face having to bat through the final day to save the Test - or set a new world record to win it.

The highest successful fourth-innings Test run chase was West Indies' 418-7 against Australia in Antigua in 2003.

Left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe (2-112) was Australia's only wicket-taker as their bowlers toiled for much of the day before the declaration came.

Pakistan are without star spinner Saeed Ajmal, currently suspended from bowling by the International Cricket Council while he remodels his action, but after Chris Rogers (23 not out) and David Warner (29) had made a steady start, Ajmal's stand-ins tore into Australia's top order.

Spinners Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah both recorded double-wicket maidens, the latter trapping captain Michael Clarke and nightwatchman Nathan Lyon lbw.
