Hello Kitty shrine in Singapore

The world's favourite "not a cat" cat is turning 40.

For the past four decades Hello Kitty has put smiles on people faces in all corners of the world.

Now the Japanese cartoon character can be found on everything from key chains to motor oil, aeroplanes to toilet paper.

The BBC's Lucas de Jong found one place in Singapore where interior designer Terry Goh has spent seven years making Hello Kitty the centre of attention.
