Madonna closed this year's Brit Awards ceremony at London's O2 Arena, but unfortunately fell off the stage after a dancer tried to remove a cape which was attached too tightly around her neck
Taylor Swift kicked off the ceremony with a performance of her hit song Blank Space. She went on to be named best international female solo artist
Ed Sheeran was star-struck when he received his British album of the year award from Oscar-winning actor Russell Crowe. The singer also won best male solo artist.
Paloma Faith was shocked to win the award for best British female solo artist, after being nominated in the same category twice before but coming away empty handed

Sam Smith won two awards - best British breakthrough act and the global success award
Kanye West performed his new track, All Day, complete with flamethrowers on stage
Mark Ronson collected the prize for best British single for his hit Uptown Funk
Many stars - among them Lionel Richie - were on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony to take selfies with fans
