Cycle tour of Tiananmen Square ahead of huge parade

China will stage a huge military parade on 3 September to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II in Asia, and highlight China's participation in a war that may have cost 14 million Chinese lives.

It will showcase some of China's most advanced weaponry, including fighter jets, attack helicopters and ballistic missiles.

The BBC's China editor Carrie Gracie went on a bike ride to Tiananmen Square to see the preparations for the event.
