India's retired soldiers fighting for their pensions

India has one of the world's largest armies, with around 1.3 million active personnel and more than two million reservists.

Former soldiers are saying they are being forced to live frugally in retirement because their pensions have been eroded by inflation.

They argue that their pension should reflect what current soldiers are paid, not what they used to earn, because of the higher cost of living.
