Japanese boy abandoned in forest leaves hospital

A Japanese boy, who was abandoned in a forest by his parents and survived for six days on his own, has left hospital.

Yamamoto Tanooka was left by the side of the road as a punishment but when his parents returned, he had disappeared.

A huge search was launched and the boy was found at a military base last Friday.
